What is HUMANON?

HUMANON is a STEMONEF initiative being built around research, learning and project contribution. The planned experience is for curious people and institutions to explore questions, test ideas and share what they learn. The scenes on this page are conceptual previews, not live projects or activity.

Who is HUMANON being built for?

Researchers, learners, builders, mentors and institutions. You can choose your interests when requesting a launch invitation. Joining this list is not an application, admission or promise of a place in a programme.

Can I explore Labs, projects or apply now?

Not yet. Lab, Work and Apply previews stay on this coming-soon page. Their buttons explain that the full experience is still to come. The current action is to request a HUMANON launch invitation.

What happens after I register my interest?

The form gives the same acknowledgement whether your address is new or already on the list. If confirmation is needed and delivery is available, check your inbox and verify your address before the launch announcement. Submitting again does not change existing subscriptions or preferences. Later updates have a separate, optional choice. You can unsubscribe using the link in the email.

How do you use my details?

We use your name to identify your request and your email to verify your address and send the launch invitation you requested. A day-rotating pseudonymous connection reference helps the administrator review requests. It expires from the dashboard after 30 days and is cleared during the next maintenance cleanup; protected backups follow backup retention. It is not a unique person identifier, and shared or proxied connections can share a reference. The application does not persist raw IP addresses. Unconfirmed request details expire after 30 days. A TECHNICAL IDEA / AN ILLUSTRATIVE DEMO

MapReduce splits text into inputs, maps each word to a count of one, groups matching words, then adds each group. This sample counts words in three fictional sentences. It is not HUMANON system activity.

  1. Split: divide the three sentences.
  2. Map: produce one pair for each word.
  3. Shuffle: collect identical words.
  4. Reduce: add each word’s occurrences.
  5. Output: show the resulting word counts.

We collect your name, email and any interests you choose to provide to identify your request, verify your address and send one HUMANON launch announcement. Later updates require the separate optional consent. The form gives the same acknowledgement for new and existing addresses; it does not reveal subscription status or confirm email delivery. Submitting again does not change existing subscriptions or preferences.

Unconfirmed request details expire after 30 days. If you opt out before confirming, we keep only a keyed fingerprint and receipt to prevent an unwanted restart. You can unsubscribe before any announcement or ask us to remove your details at people.operations@stemonef.org.
